Desmyn Owens

Desmyn joined the Virginia Cooperative Extension team as the 4-H Youth Development Agent in June 2025. Born and raised in Brunswick County, Virginia, she is passionate about youth engagement, agriculture, and community development. She obtained a B.S. in Agriculture Business and Economics from Virginia State University in 2023 and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Agricultural Leadership Studies at Virginia Tech.

Before joining the VCE team in Virginia Beach, she interned with Virginia Cooperative Extension at VSU, USDA Farm Service Agency,  and volunteered with 4-H, Jr. MANRRS, and as a Master Gardener Intern. A former collegiate softball player, she brings energy, teamwork, and a strong commitment to service in everything she does.

She looks forward to building lasting relationships with the youth, families, and volunteers of Virginia Beach and continuing the strong tradition of 4-H in the community.
